Chittenden Bank

Chittenden Bank

Creating Hartford
The Chittenden Bank was considered to be an open lot until after the flood of 1938. After the flood the building was constructed and from interviews with Chittenden bank officials it is believed to have some connection with the Briggs family. The first bank that moved to that location after the family moved out was Valley Bank, which came into the area in 1970s. After Valley Bank left Vt National Bank took over as the owner of the building and land. Vt National Bank stayed in Hartford until 1999, when Chittenden Bank took over. Chittenden Bank has made some improvements to the building, as it was time to update some of the features. Chittenden is still today the bank that resides in this building and continues to do great business for the Upper Valley. For more info please visit www.creatinghartfordvt.com
