The Budd Amfleet is a single-level intercity passenger railcar built for Amtrak in the late 1970s to early '80s. These railcars were based on the experimental Metroliner multiple units already used on the Northeast Corridor. The Amfleet I was produced from 1975 to 1977, while the Amfleet II was produced from 1980 to 1983. The main spotting difference between these coaches are the doors, the Amfleet I has side doors on both ends, while the Amfleet II only has one door on one end per side. These coaches have served on many of Amtrak's corridor and state-run trains across the US's network.
