Theatre of Pompey

Theatre of Pompey

L.VII.C
Reconstruction of the Theatre of Pompey in Rome. It was a structure in Ancient Rome built during the later part of the Roman Republican era. It was completed in seven years, starting from 61 BC, and was dedicated early in 55 BC. The theatre was one of the first permanent (non-wooden) theatres in Rome and was considered the world's largest theatre for centuries. Except for the theatre, the architectural ensemble included a temple of Venus, portico and curia, where he was assassinated Julius Caesar. This is highly detailed model. Bottom of the description there is a link with screens of model. #Ancient_Rome #Curia #Gnaeus_Pompeius_Magnus #Pompeius #Pompey #Portico #Porticus #Porticus_Pompei #Roma #Roma_Antica #Roman #Roman_architecture #Roman_Empire #Roman_Republic #Roman_temple #Roman_theatre #Rome #SPQR #Temple #Temple_of_Venus #Theatre #Theatre_of_Pompey #Theatrum_Pompeium #Venus
