Inlet Tower was historically known as the 1200 L Street Apartment Building. It was built in 1951 and was the first high-rise building in Anchorage. It is architecturally very similar to the McKinley Building which was built a year later. Both were heavily damaged in the 1964 earthquake but were later restored and renovated.
