In March 2007, MTV Networks moved to the NDSM area on the north bank of the IJ, in Amsterdam. Previously based in Bussum, North Holland, the move signals a boost for creative business; one of the main aims in the economic policy of the City of Amsterdam. The former industrial dock buildings on the eastern side of the NDSM are home to several media-related businesses, the area was subsequently renamed MediaWharf. QuA Associates transformed the interior of the former factory into a spectacular multimedia workplace, where 180 people will be employed. The concept for the interior design aims to respect the original architecture of the building as much as possible. The 5000 sq m building includes studios, control room, edit-suites, offices for the various stations and a restaurant for all divisions of MTV Networks. Max van Aerschot architects take credit for the exterior of the building. #Amsterdam #MTV
