If you look at the wall behind the model you can see where the concept came from. The idea is to have a small up and over camper that can travel about on the back of a trailer but can also be dismountable so the trailer can be used independently for work or collecting wood etc.
The main concept of this model is to illustrate that one person can live relatively comfortably in a very small space. A compact trailer home of this dimension could theoretically be parked more or less anywhere and thus keeping it's carbon footprint as low as possble. Whilst constructing the bike part of the model I decided that it would run on alternative fuels so would probably have to be some exotic diesel motor. And also it covers the fact that it only just looks like a recognisable engine.
