The Post Office Complex started as a home and first appearing in the Council assessments books in 1866. By 1868 it was referred to as a store and wine shop. Notice the misspelt sign. Whenever Australia Post has tried to have it removed, the sign would disappear only to return a short time later. There is a 1910 photo showing Telegraph sign spelt correctly.
Many years ago there was a petrol bowser on the footpath here and motorists could buy their favourite Shell oils and fuel. #Shops_Post_office
