In 1539, by order of the Safavid ruler Tahmasib I, it was built for the Sheikh Safi Mosque.The carpet is 5.34 m wide, 10.51 m long and 56.12 m sahəsi in area. It is one of the rarest examples of folk art preserved in world museums. The decorations consist of floral paintings. The upper and lower part of this composition has a richly decorated, red and sugar-colored chandelier. The countless colorful patterns around it are a symbol of the stars in the universe.
