NicolaS
In the first half of 1980s, Alitalia's domestic network was mainly entrusted to McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 aircraft (here complete with interiors), which were also used by the two subsidiary airlines, ATI and AERMEDTERRANEA. The latter was formed on March 20, 1981 from the remains of the private airlines Itavia, ATI (45%) and Alitalia (55%) and entered service on July 1, 1981 with a fleet of eight aircraft and up to 572 000 passengers in 1982. In March 1985 the company ceased to exist and its aircraft and employees were integrated into ATI, which was later acquired by parent company Alitalia in 1994. From the 1980s, ATI and AERMEDTERRANEA used a new livery very similar to that of Alitalia, with the typical logo of the stylized "A" perfectly integrated into the rudder of the plane, but with different colors, instead of green they took blue and orange. The DC-9-32s remained in the fleet for many years, from 1967 to 1994, the Fokker F-27 Friendship were used by the ATI from 1968 to 1986.
