So if Apple were ever to make a Netbook/Tablet, this is what I'd want them to make.
All the computing bits are in the screen which has accelerometers which allows it to be held in landscape or portrait orientation (both left and right handed too).
The detachable keyboard/base could attach via a couple of jacks in the rotating portions of the cylindrical bit at the base of the screen unit (which also houses the swapable battery) or perhaps via a magnetic coupling like the MagSafe power connector and a wireless connection via wireless USB or Bluetooth (though the latter's bandwidth would likely be too slow and the former is not yet ratified).
There would be a minimum of ports on the screen unit itself (1 USB connector, Mini Display Port out, 1 audio out), but the keyboard would act as a port replicator (more USB ports, Firewire, Ethernet port, etc). Maybe if you make the keyboard/base unit thicker, you could put a optical drive in there. You could also put in a second battery in the keyboard unit that would provide additional runtime and/or recharge the battery in the screen unit.
It's a rough sketch but the dimensions are about right for a 11" diag keyboard like on the current Air/Bluetooth wireless keyboard and for a 10" screen. #Apple #Apple_Netbook #Apple_Tablet #Detachable_Keyboard #iBook_Tablet #Mac #Mac_Netbook #Mac_Tablet
