Ridderzaal (Knight's Hall), Den Haag

Harmen K.
One of the most recognisable buildings in The Hague and The Netherlands is the Ridderzaal (Knight's Hall). It was built in the year 1247 as the Palace of the Count of Holland, King Willem II and later Count Floris V. The Ridderzaal was built in the Binnenhof, where parts of the Dutch parliament are now situated. Since 1904 the Ridderzaal has been the decor for the Speech from the Throne by the Dutch monarch. #1247 #13th_century #binnenhof #castle #count #den_haag #eerste_kamer #europa #europe #gouden_koets #hall #holland #king #knight #knights_hall #koning #la_haye #middeleeuwen #middle_ages #monarch #monarchy #nederland #netherlands #palace #parliament #prinsjesdag #regering #ridderzaal #rittersaal #royal #salle_des_chevaliers #senate #stadhouder #the_hague #tweede_kamer #willem
