This is my first drawing in SketchUp. Expect to find a few flaws. It is buildable because I have built benches this style in the past and am building this one now.
Since I have been getting scrap 2x4 and 2x6, I challenged myself to build the workbench from those free materials including drawer fronts.
I will purchase the 2x4x10's for the top. The side panels are whatever you prefer.
The drawer sides are split 2x4s or 2x6s planed to 1/2".
This bench is made of modular cabinets that screw into the top with 1/4x20 screws into threaded inserts.
The cabinets are light and easy to move into place. The heaviest part is the top.
The rails and styles are assembled with pocket screws.
The side panel rails and center style are set back 1/4" so that any creeping out of the pocket screws does not affect putting the cabinets side to side.
The drawer sizes hold medium and large size plastic containers for fasteners or hardware.
The clamp rack may look too shallow but it fits my quick clamps.
