New World Tower is a building in downtown Miami, Florida, United States. Although not one of the tallest buildings in the city, its proximity to Biscayne Bay gives it a prominent place in photos and postcards looking west of the Miami Skyline. When it was built in 1965, the building was the tallest building in Miami. It retained that status until 1971, when the SunTrust International Center, also in Miami, was built and was taller. The tower is 369 ft (124 m) tall, and contains 30 floors. It is located on Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 1st Street, on the eastern edge of the Central Business District. The building is part of the Biscayne Wall, a position that it shares alongside other neighboring towers including; 50 Biscayne, and One Biscayne Tower. It is often seen with an advertisement ad on the north side. The first floor contains retail space, Floors 2-4 of the building house a telecom data center, while floors 5-30 are used for commercial office space. The building was purchased in December 2006 by an affiliate of Panther Real Estate Partners.
