Appleton Tower was designed by Alan Reiach, Eric Hall and Partners, and was built as part of the University of Edinburgh's development of George Square in the 1960s. The building contains seven floors, three of which are used by the School of Informatics. The building contains five lecture theatres, accommodating approximately 1,200 students as well as smaller seminar and tutorial rooms. The building underwent refurbishment during 2006/2007 to create a modern environment for teaching and research. #Appleton #Edinburgh #lecture_theatre #school_of_informatics #seminar_rooms #Tower #University
