The Danish Windmill in Elk Horn Iowa was originally built in 1848 in Norre Snede, Jutland, Denmark. It was dismantled and brought to the United States by the Danish immigrants in Elk Horn in 1976 to represent the honor the American Danes felt for their heritage and for their forefathers who worked hard and made many sacrifices to build the community of Elk Horn Iowa, one of the largest concentrations of Danes in America. #Danish_Inn #Danish_windmill #Elk_Horn_Iowa #Norre_Snede_Vindmølle
