45 Degree Table Saw Spline Jig

45 Degree Table Saw Spline Jig

Thomas F.
If you cut 45 degree miters for shadow boxes, flag cases, etc., this jig will help you. By placing your work piece into the "cradle" of the jig, you can cut slots for splines. The use of splines will greatly strengthen your mitered joint(s) and give you the option of using contrasting wood color(s) for the splines. Doing so will go a long way toward making the work piece more visually appealing. Not shown on this model is the miter bar(s) that will keep the jig parallel to your saw blade. Not all saws are designed with uniform slot-to-blade distances, so you'll need to measure and add the miter bars yourself.
