Chevrolet Opala GranLuxo 1968, the first model of this family built by General Motors in Brazil. The Opala was the Brazilian version of Opel Rekord, renamed after a precious stone typical of Brazil, and also to keep similarity to the name "Impala" from the American car which was succesfully sold in Brazil. It had the Stovebolt 6-cylinder engine, 3800cc (250 sq inches), developing 118 HP.
