During the One Year War The Space Transport Ship was a personnel and cargo transport used by the Earth Federation Forces. The ship’s middle section could hold up to six large cargo containers. As a transport ship, it was not equipped with any weapons. In October UC 0079, a ship transporting EFF personnel picked up a distress call from Terry Sanders’ RGM-79(E) GM Early Type. Shiro Amada, assigned to command the Kojima Battalion's 08th M.S. Team on Earth, responded by launching in an RB-79K Ball Type K to assist Sanders.
